How many people will face the condition seen below ?
WATER WASTAGE

Water is life
Water - An Elixir of Life.
Why is it not easy to see the forth-coming crisis, the crisis of water-shortage. When people might die of lack of water. Though, it may rain or a tank would arrive with gallons of water, but , by then death will have already won the race.
People need to be motivatedabout the urgent need to recharge ground-water through rain-water harvesting. But this lack the will
of the government. Commitment
is seen only in the
governments of a few places
because this is a social=welfare
activity
and comes under long-term goals.
Moreover,
this cannot quench the government's thirst for
immediate showers of encomiums to the government
Roof-water harvesting can be a wonderful source of storing water at the roof-top. This will prevent the residents from using the bore-well and also the enormous amounts of electricity for sending the water to the overhead tank. The accumulated water can be sent through different stages shown below :

CONSERVATION OF WATER
Very little is being done in the direction of conservation of water. It's pitiful to see people and government being apprehensive about addressing the water needs. Instead of speaking mere words, the government shoud involve the common people too in the business of conservation of water. With the government's will, huge areas of barren lands can be converted into ponds that can store the rain water and thus prevent the rain water from
flowing into the sea.
Instead of doing something effective, a lot of fuss is being created with regard to the conservation of water. We have been exploiting the water resources illogically and unwisely. We do not think about the crisis we are likely to invite in the near future. The worst of all the water exploitation is going ahead with countless borewells for addressing not the needs but the unfettered greed of the people.

The alarming sight of the water wastage is seen in several joints of the water-pipe through which the municipal authorities supply the drinking water. It is a common sight for one to witness the neglected bad condition of the municipal water pipe-line.
dejecting sight is seen in both private
and public organisations where
the officials and the staff are least bothered
about the running water as a result of the
damaged or worn-out pipeline or taps.
The most sarcastic thing about the government officials and the ministers is that they
have ample time to babble over unimportant matters or things that deserve the least focus.
Their primary urge is to give a vent to their
feelings by heaping criticisms over the opponents. This appears as if they convey the message in that the voters are at the mercy of the fate because they cannot overthrow the representative at least for the existing tenure.
Here, the fact that has to be
driven home is that the government aims at establishing new water-projects to address the needs of the people. These projects absorb huge amounts of public money. The artificial projects, in fact, are the potential source for the corrupt politicians and authorities to embezzle. Instead of embarking on the newartificialprojects, it would wise on the part of the government to revitalize the large number of ponds
across the country, which have been
either neglected since decades. Most
of the ponds have been converted into lay-outs or have been tresspassed by the settlers. Settlements should not cost the existence of life.
If a pond is devoured, it means nature would assume fury coupled with crisis,
flowing into the sea.

RECYCLED WATER
It's quite painful to see that conservation of fresh water remains confined to words alone. Many of us express sorrow towards the water that gets wasted but do not take the pains of doing the extra mile journey of saving the water by tightening the taps that are left open. It is high time we looked into the lavish use of water.
It's ridiculous to see people watering the plants, the newly built walls or getting their car washed with fresh water. Instead, recycled water can be used for this purpose. However, the gorvernment should enable the citizens to get their house installed with water-recycling equipment.
Even the municipal authorities are not bothered about recycling water. They too, water the plants in the gardens in front of the office, and on the dividers of the roads, with fresh water.
Roof-water harvesting should be made mandatory for the residents. All the houses and commercial buildings should be fitted with pipes that carry the accumalated rain-water from the roof to the sink-pit arranged at the cellar. All the people need to join hands in going ahead with roof water-harvesting and rainwater-harvesting.
In nations where literacy has not covered the major part of the population, government's role in pushing forward the awareness and campaigning programmes, becomes vital. Government should make the roof-water harvesting mandatory for every building- both residential and commercial. Recycling units should be installed on every building. In this regard, the government should undertake the responsibility of bulk manutacture of recycling units so that the consumers get it at lower costs.
